While Galveston & Pearland decided not to due Fourth of July celebrations/fireworks, Houston & Alvin are still proceeding! Houston’s Freedom Over Texas Festival that normally takes place every 4th of July will be broadcasted online and on TV for the concert portion with the Houston Symphony! If you are close to Jones Hall, you should also be able to watch the firework show while still practicing social distancing!! The 3 hour event will be available via ABC13 Houston and will start at 6:30 pm with music at 7 pm! Alvin will also be hosting a firework show at Briscoe Park but the park itself will be closed, so you will have to find somewhere to watch the show! Alvin did say they are trying to make it bigger and better so more people will be able to see the show even from more than a mile away! The fireworks will start around 9 pm on Saturday and you can tune into KACC 89.77 FM to listen to music provided by Alvin Community College that will go along with the firework display!
