Grand Texas Theme Park | Christy Buck Team

Having amusement park withdrawals?!?

If so, Houston has some good news for you.

Ever since Astro World closed down in 2005, Houstonians have had to travel to an amusement park. Which can be a huge inconvenience for some!

Now, Houston will have a theme park to call its own. Texas Grand Theme Park to be installed on Interstate 59 North near SH 242 near Kingwood. The complex is planned to be finished in 2020.

This 630-acre entertainment complex has started on its 40 acre water park, Big Rivers, this month. Once this is complete in Spring 2018, the developer will shift its focus on the rest of the Grand Texas Theme Park including a sportsplex and a factory outlet mall.

Grand Texas Theme Park will have over 5 rollercoasters, thrill rides, an authentic narrow-gauge railroad, river boat adventures, live entertainment, and will emphasize Houston’s Mexican and German influences. It is said to be bigger than Astro World! Big Rivers Water Park got its name from inspired Texas rivers and the tradition of “tubing”. Big Rivers will include the TALLEST body slide, one of the most powerful wave pools and one of the longest lazy rivers! For the young ones, there will be splash pads and kiddie slides.

The Grand Texas Sportsplex will have 10 multi-use fields for soccer, lacrosse, rugby and 7-on-7 football, 5 softball fields that are interchangeable with 4 junior baseball fields and 4 college level  baseball fields for more advanced athletes.

Gator Bayou Adventure Park is another addition to this development. This place will include exploring the outdoors such as climbing and swinging through the trees in the natural setting of Gator Bayou. Fishing from the dock, paddling on the pond and jumping off a hundred-foot plat form in a free fall are adventures you can take on. You can share you experience with live alligators, friends and family!

These two parks below opened last year!

Grand Texas RV Park and Speedsportz go cart racing park opened in 2016. The Grand Texas RV Park includes 135 sites on a concrete pad, full hook ups, 20/30/50A power, over  100 channels of cable TV, back in or pull-through sites are available, unlimited WIFI, propane, dog run, laundry, playground and clubhouse and much more!

Speedsportz is a European-style outdoor track that was designed by award winning kart driver, Alan Rudolph. This racing park is perfect for a night out with friends, family and even a date!
