Paint Colors That Affect Home Sales | Christy Buck Team

Are you having trouble picking out a paint color that will help sell your home? According to statistics, choosing the right paint color will make a difference when it comes to selling your home.

Zillow conducted an analysis on how certain paint colors affected home sales from 2010 to February 2017. 32,000 photos were taken of homes sold between that time and the analysis compared the average sales patterns of each color to those of similar homes with white walls. Shades of light grey and light blue on walls often sold for a lot more than expected, says Zillow. Homes with cooler tones on walls sold for as much as 5,400 more than expected price. Buyers seemed to like walls with light beige or oatmeal tone. Homes with those colors in living rooms sold for 1,809 more then expected on average, says Zillow. Walls with no color saw a huge decline as well as bathrooms painted off-white or eggshell white, the prices decreased 4,035 on average. Warmer tones did not pair well compared to cooler counterparts. Yellow kitchens and pink bedrooms sold for less than expected. Different shades of red saw as much as 2,031 drop from expected price as well. Here is a list of  certain areas of homes that are affected by price because of the paint color.
